This is Eye on Canon.
Quite simply, I’m a guy (named Greg) who spends way too much time watching movies, readings nerdy books and comics, and consuming vast swaths of pop culture discourse. From time to time, I enjoy unrolling my ball of yard and trying to connect a few thumbtacks and understand what larger patterns we may be seeing. I hope to do that here in this space and share my writings about it. To start, I’ve selected a few of my better blog entries from the past as a representation of what I like to think about, and I hope they’re enjoyable to read, even if their “of the moment” prognosticating proved to be ultimately false.
In recent weeks, I’ll share some new ideas and takes that may focus on a film or recent event, but try to stretch outward to understand the larger cultural forces behind them. I hope you’ll find these efforts enjoyable.
